Meet Dhundup
Hello and welcome!
I'm Dhundup, the founder of Tara Therapy and Wellness.
At Tara Therapy & Wellness, I offer a compassionate, trauma-informed space for individuals navigating anxiety, burnout, trauma, self-worth struggles, perfectionism, emotional exhaustion, and life transitions. My work is especially focused on supporting immigrants, children of immigrants, healthcare professionals, and high-functioning adults who have spent much of their lives in survival mode.
Many of the people I work with grew up feeling pressure to succeed, minimize their emotions, stay strong for others, or earn love through achievement and responsibility. Over time, these patterns can lead to chronic stress, self-criticism, difficulty resting, emotional disconnection, or feeling lost within your own life.
Therapy is not about “fixing” who you are. It is about creating space to better understand yourself with compassion, process painful experiences safely, and begin developing healthier ways of coping, relating, and caring for yourself.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and culturally aware, integrating CBT, DBT, inner child work, attachment-focused exploration, and nervous-system-informed care. I believe healing happens not only through insight, but also through feeling emotionally safe, understood, and supported.
Before transitioning into psychotherapy, I worked as a Registered Nurse for over a decade. That experience deeply shaped my understanding of burnout, caregiving, emotional exhaustion, and the invisible pressure many people carry silently. As an immigrant myself, I also bring personal insight into the complexities of cultural identity, belonging, family expectations, and navigating multiple worlds.
Whether you are struggling with anxiety, burnout, trauma, self-worth, relationship difficulties, or simply feeling disconnected from yourself, therapy can be a space where you no longer have to carry everything alone.
You deserve support that feels humane, compassionate, and grounded.
I look forward to walking alongside you in your healing journey!
